In response to growing concerns about personal information security in the rapidly evolving digital age, especially with the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE) – Nguyen Tat Thanh University successfully organized the workshop “Digital Safety in the AI Era”. The event attracted strong interest from NIIE students.
Led by Mr. Le Nguyen Khang – a Google for Education Certified Trainer, Project Lead at the social enterprise FLASH VN, and delegate at the Aus4ASEAN Digital Transformation Forum hosted by RMIT in Australia – the workshop provided students with an insightful overview of cybersecurity risks and practical protective strategies.
Through accessible presentations, students learned about common cyberattacks such as password attacks, phishing, malware, DDoS attacks, man-in-the-middle tactics, vulnerability exploitation, and social engineering. Real-world scenarios helped illustrate the risks associated with using public Wi-Fi, unknown apps, and social media.
Beyond theory, the workshop emphasized practical self-protection strategies. Mr. Khang introduced eight essential principles for digital safety, tailored to the tech habits of Gen Z. These simple yet impactful practices empowered students to adopt safe behaviors in their daily digital lives.
The workshop concluded with an energetic Q&A session, where students asked questions about identifying phishing emails, the effectiveness of incognito mode, public internet risks, and fake Wi-Fi traps. Mr. Khang provided clear answers, bridging the gap between theory and real-life concerns.
This workshop served as both an educational experience and a timely warning: in a world where AI can fabricate identities, voices, and images, students must be alert, informed, and proactive in protecting themselves in the digital space.
NIIE remains committed to equipping students with practical digital competencies, ensuring they are confident and prepared to navigate the evolving technological landscape safely and responsibly.
